Maggie ate her dinner!!!!!

When I called the vet at 5, she said Maggie was really doing well and had eaten her dinner all gone! Amazing!!!  But – she hadn’t tried to get up yet and they hadn’t taken her out to the bathroom yet.  So, we made the decision to keep her there overnight.  I was afraid to disturb her, since she was content. Also, I want them to check her out thoroughly tomorrow, check the pain meds, etc.  It was (ANOTHER) difficult decision, but the vet was confident she will be fine and sleep undisturbed all night.  She will be alone from about 7 pm to 6:30 am.  I will call tomorrow at 8:30 and find out when we can pick her up!

Thank you all for your help and support!!!!!

  1. WOW! Eating just a few hours after surgery? Crazy good news!! I wouldn’t have expected that, nor would I expect her to be up walking yet either.

I know you just let out a huge sigh of relief, because we just jad a windstorm here in Virginia!!

Try and get some rest tonight, okay? Maggie will be in la la land tonight and feeling no pain!

Will look forward to your updates tomorrow! So happy for you! This is such good news!

Sending you some sheep to count tonight!

    1. She ate again this morning before we picked her up!!! Amazing! I squeaked a toy to get her to stop trying to get at the stitches and she came running over to get the toy!!! Thanks! Judi

  2. Maggie is already showingeveryone what a trooper she is! I’m glad you chose to leave her one more night. They sleep a lot the first week.

    Take care-

  3. Wahoo!!!!! This also meant you got more sleep without her to worry about at home. Tonight, though, will be an adventure!

    1. Yes – I actually slept very well last night (which I haven’t in the last 3 weeks!!) and even got a swim in this morning before I called the vet. They put me on hold and I was nervous until I heard how well she was doing!!! Thanks!
